Business Opportunities

Business Opportunities For Singaporean SMEs In Uzbekistan...

Given our limiting market in this time of global downturn, why not look beyond our borders for greater opportunities to grow your investment and business. No matter which trade you are involved in, Central Asia offers ample opportunity for you to setup your business and make it grow. Business opportunities abound in the export and import sectors, various direct investment opportunities in production or retail and, in real estate banking.

Asialinx will be conducting business conferences and tours for Singapore businesses to Uzbekistan in the next quarter. As is, there are already a number of Singaporeans companies doing business gainfully in Uzbekistan. This will be a good opportunity for Singapore SMEs to explore the steadily growing Uzbekistan economy.

Why Central Asia? To give you a short review, Central Asian market is still not so competitive and just getting to be discovered by Western countries. There are more and more foreign MNCs moving in to setup their operations. Uzbekistan economy is growing at a steady pace and is not really affected by the global economic crunch. This can be attributed to the Uzbekistan government’s relaxed but attractive economic policies compared to western countries. For example, Uzbekistan GDP exhibited an 8.3% growth when many other developing countries were suffering from the economic crisis.

Although Uzbekistan is landlocked, it has a large internal market of 27 million people, and it offers easy access to the entire Silk Road markets of over 142 million people. Lying at the heart of Central Asia, Uzbekistan forms the hub of the region. Its transport and communications networks connect it with other Central Asian countries, and a number of transnational corporations such as Sumitomo, Petronas, Siemens, Proctor & Gamble, Xerox - just to name a few, have already chosen it as their regional headquarters. A relatively developed infrastructure is its competitive advantage over many other countries in transition where the infrastructure is non-existent or has been allowed to deteriorate.

Should you find this information interesting and would like to join the business entourage to Uzbekistan, Asialinx will be pleased to meet you at our Uzbekistan Business Information Center (UzBIC) at #01-25 Burlington Square and give you a full review of our company operations and investment opportunities. Please feel free to contact Asialinx Group at 6325 4133 or email to our following business development team for further information regarding the business trip to Uzbekistan.
